3rd Annual Symposium and Conference of Partners

The 2013 Partners’ Symposium was hosted by the Government of Germany through the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU) and the City of Bonn.  Additional support for the event was provided by the Government of the Republic of France, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO).

Local event organization and facilitation were undertaken by mas contour, a Berlin based firm specializing in tourism consulting.  The Partners’ Symposium was convened at the Gustav-Stresemann-Institut (GSI) in Bonn, Germany.  There were 182 participants, from 26 countries, 35% of which were women. Most participants were from Europe.
