  • "The environmental impact of a restaurant or hotel: A Life Cycle Approach” -  February 11th, 2014

The objective of the Webinar was to present the environmental labelling project of restaurants and the MALICE® software tool that has been developed in connection with the project.

  • Harnessing Tourism to meet Sustainable Tourism Development Imperatives: Lessons learned in the Africa Region” - March 11th, 2014

The Africa Finance and Private Sector Development Department of the World Bank published the report “Tourism in Africa: Harnessing Tourism for Growth and Improved Livelihoods” to explain how tourism stimulates economic development, highlighting in particular the Sub-Saharan African (SSA) countries. The participants will learn about the practical, evidence-based measures that were recommended in the report to demonstrate how tourism can meet sustainable development imperatives.

The Webinar was presented by Ms. Eneida Fernandez, Private Sector Development Specialist of the World Bank, Washington DC.

  • Integrated Coastal Zone Management (ICZM) and strategic tourism development planning” -  May 28th, 2014 
The objective of the webinar is to discuss UNEP’s Mediterranean Action Plan (UNEP/MAP) and the Priority Actions Programme/Regional Activity Centre (PAP/RAC), as an example of ICZM best practices, as well as to provide information on the ICZM Protocol for the Mediterranean, demonstrating the commitment of participating countries and organizations .

  • “Influencing Sustainable Tourism Strategies and Actions in the South Pacific and the South Pacific Tourism Organization’s (SPTO) Approach” - August 18th, 2014
The objective of the webinar is to learn what a region with Small Island Developing States (SIDS) is doing to integrate sustainable tourism objectives in the countries' tourism operations, with examples on how they have overcome obstacles to achieve their defined  goals and objectives.
